Definition and Usage

The EXTRACT() function extracts a part from a given date.

Syntax

EXTRACT(part FROM date)

Parameter Values

Parameter Description
part Required. The part to extract. Can be one of the following:
  • MICROSECOND
  • SECOND
  • MINUTE
  • HOUR
  • DAY
  • WEEK
  • MONTH
  • QUARTER
  • YEAR
